Show I -N E W S- Spanish Fork Coveting what matters most WEDNESDAY, MARCH 26, 2008 • A5 SF stake holds stake conference Primose Retreat The Spanish Fork Stake held their semi-annual Stake Conference on March 8-9, 2008, presided over by President Russell G. Graham, First Counselor Bret C. Van Ausdal, and Second Counselor Kenneth P. Payne. The theme of the Saturday leadership meeting was, "Let every man learn his duty." Priesthood leaders were challenged to magnify callings, be prepared to serve, and ponder on what we can give and learn. The talks also outlined our responsibility to teach and be led by the Spirit. He updated members on the newly acquired "auto-pulse system" used to help people having heart attacks or other breathing difficulty problems. The main function of this device is to keep constant pressure to the heart during CPR. New studies have shown that this is even more important than the breaths given between compressions. Many lives will be saved because of this new system being used by our ambulance personnel. Eugene Colledge conducted the meeting Gordon Lowe led the pfedge and Eldon Money gave the prayer. Gordon Onintroduced Don Thomas to the group. evening adult session shared testimonies of the Atonement of Jesus Christ and the great purpose of Temple work. President Clyde Hicken of the Provo Temple Presidency declared our need to seek the Lord and be prepared to enter the Temple. The Sunday General session emphasized missionary work. President Tervort, a counselor in the Provo Mission Presidency, shared mission experiences and the power of prayer to be guided in daily missionary work. President Graham concluded the conference with the challenge to be "gospel sharing families."
