Loafer Elementary School citizenship program, Mrs. Baadsgaard presented these fine students with a Baadsgaard Buddy because of the way they care for others. Caring was the theme for the month of February and students learned about not hurting others, treating others the way they would want to be treated, taking time to care for others, and doing nice things for someone without expecting something in return. We are very proud of our students at Mt. Loafer. Riverview Canyon Courtesy photo HE'S FUN: Recently, fourth-grade teacher, Charles Thorpe was awarded the Crystal Apple Award at Riverview Elementary. Mr. Thorpe received the award in honor of his 33 years of service in Nebo School District and his dedication to his students. One student commented, "He's fun, he listens, and he teaches us." The students at Riverview Elementary are fortunate to have outstanding teachers like Mr. Thorpe at their school. Twenty-one students from the fourth, fifth, and sixth grade classes participated in the school Spelling Bee on Tuesday, March 4, 2008. They were all well prepared, spelling many words with confidence. After many rounds and many words, Sierra out-spelled them all! The top fourth grade speller in the Spelling Bee competition was Maleah Cook. Westley Cook was the sixth grade winner. The top fifth grade speller and second place Spelling Bee Champ is Audrey Dayton.
