She serves as an FCCLA officer and is an active member of NHS. In 9th grade she was named Biology Student of the Year by Spanish Fork Junior High School's science department. Sarah enjoys reading romance novels, listening to varying genres of music and eating salty foods. She also has a weakness for desserts — "they look fancy and I love to eat them, too." , Sarah's favorite classes have always been art and computers "because you can be creative" and aerobics "because it's fun to workout and you can let your mind wander." Sarah is interested in seeking a career in nutrition and plans to graduate from BYU with a bachelor's degree in that field. She also has plans to someday get married and raise a family. When asked about what makes her interesting or unique, Sarah said, "People always tell me that my thumbs are weird. I always thought everyone had thumbs like mine, but then I realized they are pretty weird." Mrs. Lyman said, "Sarah is not only a motivated and exceptional student; she has a compassionate and kind personality as well. She is very creative and an original thinker. He is a member of the varsity basketball team and is currently completing an internship at Trapnell Orthodontics in Spanish Fork. He was named Academic All Region for basketball in 2007 and will soon finish - work on his Eagle Scout. He plans to graduate from high school, serve an LDS mission, become an orthodontist, and start a family. When asked about his favorite classes, Cameron said, "I love my law enforcement class because it is fun to learn about the law and the people who break it." Cameron also enjoys his medical anatomy and physiology class "because it pertains, to the field I'm going into." Some of Cameron's favorite things to do include eating his mom's cooking, playing basketball and golf, hanging out with friends and being outdoors with his family. Singing in the shower is also an amusing pastime for him — "it's always fun because you can sing as loud as you want." Mrs. Whittekiend said, "Cameron is an outstanding student and a hard worker. He has proven to be respectful, responsible and self-motivated. He has an eye for detail and completed projects in my Web Page Design Class that were very well done. He has a pleasant personality and is just a fun person to be around. His positive attitude and smile are always present." • having Sarah in my classes." John Christiansen John Christiansen is the son of Richard and Gaye Christiansen. He has a passion for music and was able to participate in Honors Band at Weber State University in 2007 and is looking forward to doing the same at Southern Utah University this year. He loves playing the piano, trumpet, and guitar. John's favorite classes are Chemistry, (because he loves learning and mixing potions). Honors English (because he loves expressing himself through writing) and Band (because he loves playing uplifting music — it gives him chills). John is a very self-motivated individual who loves to run and reach hard goals he has set for himself. Reaching his goals gives him "a positive feeling of accomplishment." He enjoys mountain biking, making new friends, and scouting. John *s family had the unique opportunity of spending a month in Nepal in 2005. John said, "We trekked in the Himalayas and helped in the orphanages. Nepal is the third poorest country in the world and it was avery humbling experience. If I had the chance to do it again, I'd jump for joy!" Mrs. Davis said, "John is an outstanding student. I have appreciated his insightful comments and his excellent writing. He is a responsible, well-prepared student and he sincerely enjoys learning. John is a well-rounded, interesting person and it is a pleasure having him in Honors English this year. Sarah Clark Sarah Clark is the daughter of Robert and Anne Clark. She is a member of Ambassadors and is on the girl's soccer team. She has received the "Spirit of a Don" award, maintains a 4.0 GPA, and has earned her Young Women Recognition award. Sarah loves to eat anything Italian, listen to the band Rascal Flatts and play soccer. She loves music, especially the violin, piano, and singing. Her favorite classes are Choir (because she loves to sing and dance) and Biology (because it is fun to learn about the earth and everything that has lived on it). Sarah's short-term goals are to earn a 4.0 GPA for term three and place first at choir tour. Her long-term goals are to go to BYU and serve an LDS mission. She lives in Salem and is excited about attending Salem Hills High School next year as a senior. Mr. Clarke said, "One of the enjoyable experiences of teaching Pre-Calculus this year has been working with and getting to know Sarah. I have enjoyed her sense of humor and her love for life, Sarah is an exemplary student who is dedicated to excellence in her studies and in her personal life. Josh Adams Josh Adams is the son of Richard and Jody Adams. He was named MVP of the sophomore football team, is the sophomore basketball team captain, plays soccer, and maintains high grades. He is known for putting forth his best effort in all that he does. In his spare time he likes to play a variety of sports, watch movies, and hang out with friends. He likes Mexican and Chinese food, "but you can't beat a roast with potatoes and gravy." His favorite band is Daughtry and his favorite artist is Nelly. When asked about his views oh education, he said, "I feel that education is very important. It is essential if I want to be successful in life. Education is one of the most important things to focus on right now, and the effort I put into school now will determine my future." Josh's goals include earning a 4.0 GPA this term, be successful in the sports he plays, getting a scholarship, attending college, and serving an LDS mission. Ms. Johnson said, "Josh is the ideal student in every teacher's classroom. His presence in my classroom is ever apparent both academically and socially. He always strives to learn and work with a smile. He is an excellent student, athlete, and person. Congrats Josh! " To register for the ACT, pick up a registration packet in the counseling office OR go on line at www.actstudent.org and register there with a credit or debit card. Be sure to enter the Spanish Fork High School Code: 450-410 on the application. Counselors recommend students take the ACT for the first time in April or June of their junior year. ACT Prep Classes will be held each Saturday from March 15-April 5, from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. Each Saturday will cover a different subject: English, Reading, Math and Science. If you are interested in signing up for these classes, please pay $50.00 in the Finance Office, and they will put your name on the list. Seating is limited. American Legion Essay Contest -. Security Insurance Anjuli Humphreys Anjuli Humphreys is the daughter of Kirk and Velena Humphreys. She is an experienced SCUBA diver and says she enjoys it "because you can escape reality and it's very peaceful." Another hobby of hers is cooking and creating HONORING EXCELLENCE AT meals. Her long-term goal is to become a chef at a five-star restaurant. She has recently discovered wood working as another hobby she enjoys.
