Chad Vest STAFF WRITER On senior night in the Don Dome, Spanish Fork (6-4, 14-7) entertained the American Fork Cavemen (1-9,5-16) and the visitor was determined to salvage their record with a season-ending victory. In fact, they almost did, but the red and gray got a big boost from the .bench and simply hit a few more Ishots than their opponent. It was a iclose contest from start to finish but the difference was the Dons' ability to force key turnovers and make baskets in transition to stop any Caveman run. Spanish sealed the win at the charity stripe which gave nine seniors and their team a 57-51 victory. Steven McVey started out strong. But the Cavemen stormed back due to good defense and some timely shots for a 14-4 run. They were led by BYU-bound Jake Murphy who hit several shots in the paint to give his team a 16-13 lead after the first. Murphy and men continued their hot streak early in the second and went up 22-17 until Petey and Catmull checked in to provide some solid defense which cut the lead to to four.
