As with tradition, the recipients of this year's Icelandic Heritage Award were announced: Kathleen Reilly and Karen and Ed Anderson. Reilly, who has served on the Icelandic Association Board for many years, said, "The more I know about [my Icelandic heritage], the prouder I am of it." Karen Anderson echoed her sentiments, "It's been such a wonderful tradition in our home ... the Icelandic heritage has always been foremost." The evening was filled with music; a children's choir sang an Icelandic song as well as "Iceland," a song composed by Judy Reimschiissel for the Icelandic Association. Jaime Emmons and Center Stage for the Performing Arts provided the entertainment, and the evening concluded with group singing.
