Show -NEWS- Spanish Fork Covering what matters most Girls soccer awards night The SFHS girls soccer awards program was held Tuesday, Oct. 16,2007. Head Coach Dennis Gillie, and assistant coaches Emma DeCarlo and Anita Norris announced the awards. Academic All-State honors went to seniors Lindsee Thurgood and Laura Vincent, who each have a 4.0 GPA. Those qualifying for Academic All-Region were: seniors, Amanda Barlow, Haley Richardson, Lindsee Thurgood, Laura Vincent; juniors, Jessie Anderson, Kylee Bufton Katelyn Elliott, Britney Jones; Ashley Shelley, Brooke Steinkopf, Jennifer Youd; and sophomore Shea Johnson. Haley Rickardson, Jessie Anderson, kelli Roach and Katelyn Elliott were named to the Region IV All-Region teams. Laura Vincent was named team MVP. Kelli Roach was the outstanding senior, and Haley Richardson was the points leader. Ashley Shelley was the outstanding defender, and Sarah Clark was awarded the Spirit of a Don. Oustanding junior was Jessie Anderson, outstanding sophomore was Shea Johnson and the outstanding freshman was Brittany Taylor. WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2007 • B3 4th Annual Thanksgiving Dodgeball Tournament Spanish Fork Parks and Recreation's 4th Annual Thanksgiving Dodgebal! Tournament will be the evening of Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007 Register at Spanish Fork Parks & Recreation Office, 475 West Center St., Monday-Thursday 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Fridays 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Registration Deadline is Thursday, Nov. 15, 2007. Fee is $65 per team. Must prepay. Twelve players are allowed on a team roster. Ten players will play at a time. Teams should be made up of adults, 18 years or older. Teams may have three players that are high school age. All teams will play in one division. Teams may be made up of men, women or mixed gender. Games will be set up in a round robin format, with three match-ups guaranteed for ea,ch team. Games will be played at the Spanish Fork Jr. High School. The 15-year-olds got the elk near Kamas on Friday, Oct. 12, 2007. In the must-win game against Lehi, he made a big statement with a 19-yard rushing touchdown just 10 seconds into the gome. Among his almost 80 yards was a big 23-yard run that helped set up another TD in the first half.
