Baadsgaard, Taylor Brown, Colton Anderson, Luke Baadsgaard and Colin Anderson. Youth provide service in Benjamin Colton Anderson, son of Neil and Kathryn Anderson of Lake Shore, is working on his Eagle Scout project in which he is identifying and making a map of the graves of those buried there. He plans to install the map at the cemetery which will help any who come looking for specific graves and who need to find their locations. He needs help with this ambitious project in the form of money donations for the cost of the cemetery sign board, and with information of names that may be missed — especially with the names of those who have been buried in the cemetery during the years 1998-2004. Those names have been lost due to a computer glitch. Colton and his ScoutTroop 862, plus family members and others have been devoting much time and effort to this project for several months. The frame for the sign board is now in place at the top of the cemetery. This was set in place on Friday, Oct. 26, 2007 with the post holes being dug by Colton's father, Neil, and approved by the county. The scouts helped with setting in the metal frame which had been made, including a powder coating by Barber Welding. Colton has worked with Utah County and .the Benjamin Cemetery Board in making sure everything he is doing meets with their approval and codes. The County Commission waived the permit fee and the Utah County Public Works donated the surveying for the map. The cemetery board has also worked with Colton in making sure the project will serve the public as Colton hopes it will. He is appreciative for all the help he has received thus far. Meanwhile, Coiton's sister, McKenna is also incorporating this project to fulfill her LDS Young Women's goal in a Works and Values project. She is combing the cemetery looking for and identifying the graves of those who have been buried there in those years of 1998-2004. This is a rather long and tedious project, but she is finding it interesting, partially due to the fact that she and Colton have many ancestors buried there. Both Colton and McKenna are to be commended for these special projects which will help people for many years to come. Donations for the project should be sent to Lee Jensen at 7035 South 4000 West in Benjamin (ZIP code 84660).
