In order for the students to gain a better understanding on proper nutrition, they will explore the food guide pyramid and identify how nutrients like fat, carbohydrates, protein, vitamins, and minerals, play a vital part in keeping their bodies healthy. They will also prepare basic dishes such as biscuits and gravy, chili and cornbread, waffles and syrup, and many others. These skills are expected to be of great value to them as they move forward in their lives. Juniors and sophomores should begin preparing now for their future by exploring different college and scholarship requirements that they can be working toward. They should be taking course work that corresponds to their interests and career goals. See one of the counselors if you have any questions.
