Show -N E W S- Covering what matters most Spanish Fork WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 8, 2007 - B3 ent Steve Hardman / Spanish Fork News Salem's first annual Kickball Tournament almost didn't happen due to lack of response, but two teams did sign up and so a one-game tournament was held to determine the championship. The Used To Coulds beat out the KaBlamos in a tight game, 6-5. Spanish Oaks Ladies host tourney The Spanish Oaks Ladies golf team hosted the East Bay Ladies on July 30,2007 at the Spanish Oaks Golf Course. The gals really played hard and were the winners with a score of 74 points over the opposing team's 70. The team players were Eunice Schelegel, Mickey Pulsipher, Gloria Christensen, and LaRue Taylor, Sandi Nilsson, Dickie Jane Sargent, Jolynn Griner and Linda Roylance. The team that took the most points was Gloria Christensen and LaRue Taylor. Mickie Pulsipher won the least putts. Great playing gals. Some of our Spanish Oaks Ladies had the opportunity of playing in the Riverside Ladies Miss Agin' Invitational. They were Gloria Christensen, Eunice Schelegel, Dickie Jane Sargent, Sandi Nilsson, and LaRue Taylor. They all played well, but didn't place in the winner's circle. Gloria . won a TaylorMade driver for being closest to the hole on their number nine hole. The next team play will be on Aug. 13 at the Spanish Oaks Course against the Tri City Ladies. We wish our gals the best of luck. We will continue to play the Ladies Day competition at 9 a.m. Meet at the course at 8:30 a.m. for pairing as long as the weather holds. The Best-Ball Golf Tournament for the Spanish Oaks Ladies was held on Aug. 2 with 62 ladies from all over the state participating in the competition. It was a rainy, windy day, but everyone finished. We had a delicious luncheon served by the snack bar. We had four teams from our Ladies Association who placed in the winning circle. They were Eunice Schelgel, Mickey Pulsipher, Gloria Hartley, Marilyn Tuner, Jolynn Griner, Linda Toylance,GloriaChristensen and Sandi Nilsson. We wish to publicly acknowledge and thank the following people for their outstanding support of this tournament. Thanks for all the support you gave in making the Ladies Golf Tournament on Aug. 2 a huge success.
