Local youth earns top ten finish at AQHA Jade Brent Nielsen of Spanish Fork was a top10 finalist in Three Year Old Geldings with Obvious Jimmy, a 2006 Chestnut American Quarter Horse Gelding, at the Ford American Quarter Horse Youth Association World Championship Show in Oklahoma City. Okla., July31-Aug.8.2009. "The Ford AQHYA World Champion Show is the premier event for AQHYA members," said Don Treadway Jr., AQHA Executive Vice President. "Jade Brent Nielsen is to be congratulated for achieving such a great honor with Obvious Jimmy." The Ford AQHYA World Championship Show is the pinnacle event for more than 30,000 AQHYA members. The show featured 2,474 entries from around the world competing for 33 World Championship titles. To qualify for the invitational event, exhibitors along with their horses must have earned a certain number of points in AQHA-approved shows from May 1, 2008-April 30, 2009. The American Quarter Horse Journal will have the results of the Ford Youth World in the October issue. Riders of all ages with their trained mounts followed a timed obstacle course, jumping their horses over various barriers. |
