Jarman / Spanish Fork News TICKLED PINK: Pink is recognized nationally as the color for breast cancer. Pink balloons, bandanas, shirts, socks, bicycles, shoelaces and ribbons abounded. Someone even wore a pink cape. OU/lg/ Sponsored by Western States Insurance Agency, Inc. Bright and early on June 13, a benefit 5k run/walk began at Brockbank Elementary for Paula Berns,.. She is a 37-year-old mother of three children, Mackenzi, Taylor and Devin, and wife to.Michael Berns.-, She works here in our community and serves as the current President of the Young Women in her ward. Paula was diagnosed with breast cancer in December and began chemotherapy in January. She recently-finished her six chemo treatments. She has had two surgeries already and has at least one more to go, not to mention radiation treatments coming up. She is about halfway through her whole ordeal. Many neighbors, friends, her young woman and strangers alike ran, biked, walked, scooted and skated on her behalf. ON YOUR MARK: Before the race began, an introduction was given as well as a prayer.
