Show - N E W S Spanish Fork Covering what matters most Wedding Scouts WEDNESDAY, JULY 30, 2008 • A5 Achievement McKay Lewis McKay Lewis of Spanish Fork has been selected three consecutive years to attend North American Final in Hershey, PA. McKay maintains a 3.9 G.RA and has qualified for the United States Track final in El Paso, Texas for the funning long jump. He has also taken state in the 100 M, 200 M, and standing long jump. McKay is fourteen and is the son of Mike and Tammy Lewis. He has two brothers, Cameron and Breck, and a little sister, Taylor. Wedding Nelson, Hickman Jennifer Lowe and Joy Prior A court of honoT was recently held for Jennifer Lowe and Joy Prior on Sunday, July 20, 2008. These young women earned the Venturing Silver Award which is the highest award available in the Venturing Program of the Boy Scouts of America. Jennifer and Joy are members of Crew 1532, Chartered by the Spanish Fork Area Chamber of Commerce. This co-ed Venturing crew reaches out to a crew membership that spans from Lindon to Salem. The key note speaker at the court honor was Carol Tanner who spoke on the importance of to setting and achieving goals throughout our lives. Jennifer and Joy will both be Seniors at Spanish Fork High School this upcoming year. Jennifer is the daughter of Gordon and Janice Lowe and Joy is the daughter of Paul and Eileen Prior. Jim and Pat Nelson are pleased to announce the marriage of their daughter, Nicole, to Ryan Hickman, son of Merlin and Shcllie Hickman. The couple have chosen to be married in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on Friday, August 1,2008. A reception will be held in their honor from 6-8 that night at the Salem Community Center, 151 West 300 South. Ryan graduated from Spanish Fork High School and served an LDS mission to Brazil. He is currently working towards a pharmacy degree at University of Southern Nevada, Salt Lake Campus. Nicole is also a graduate of Spanish Fork High School and is currently working towards a degree in biology education at Utah Valley University. We are sorry if we missed you in our excitement. Funds made will be given back to the youth of Spanish Fork through numerous projects planned for this coming year. SPANISH FORK ^ p ^ Football Booster Auction l i "BUILDING THE YOUTH OF TODAY FOR L E W S OF Aug. 2 1 , 2008 at 7 p.m. the Spanish Fork Fcxjtbail Booster's will be conducting their annual auction at the Spanish Fork Football Field. This year will be somewhat unique. The auction will be held at the same time as the evening practice prior to the first game. The first game is with Alta on Aug. 22, 2008. The funs, the boosters and the community will have an opportunity to support the boosters, watch thepractice and have a piece of pizza with the team., The Boosters will accept any donated items up to the starting time of the auction.
