Ms. Warren has been employed in Nebo School District for 20 years serving as a classroom teacher and intern facilitator at Grant and Art City Elementary Schools and has spent the past five years as the principal at Mapleton Elementary. Julie has received numerous awards including Innovator of the Year by the Utah Association of Elementary School Principals in 2006. Commenting on Julie, her peers said, "Julie has always been, and will continue to be, a leader among any group of peers with whom she works. It has been said that 'strong leaders will only follow a leader stronger than themselves.' Julie has always been at the forefront, with a powerful group of advocates behind her. Part of this wonderful leadership ability stems from the positive relationships she naturally builds with her colleagues, supervisors and subordinates. Julie is genuinely interested in the welfare of others and committed to helping them reach their potential. "As I reflect on these different jobs, there are two Julie Warren common threads that stand out. Every day with a child is a good day. It doesn't get better than that. Can you imagine a job where everyday you get to see the toothless grin of a second grader? The other common thread is that every day I work with people who make me a better person. I can't imagine a better work place," said Ms. Warren at the school board meeting, "Julie is also one of the hardest working employees in Nebo School District. She sets appropriate goals for excellence and then commits all of the time and energy required to accomplish those goals. She willingly accepts assignments which are given to her and always produces results which exceed expectations. It's truly rare to get someone with Julie's natural talents and abilities coupled with her dedication to the profession," said Rick Nielsen, the former Elementary Director. 008 July 14-19 Tennis Tournaments Monday-Saturday.
