Give me its grip that says 1 believe thee. Soft is the palm of a delicate woman. Hard is the hand of a rough, sturdy yeomen. Soft palm or hard palm, it matters not ever. Give me the grasp that is friendly forever. By Joyce Caetta President Beck turned the time over to Barbara Warner who introduced her guests, Dr Kendall and Judy Barrows. Dr. and Mrs. Barrows settled in our area after spending many years in the service of our country. While in the army they had the opportunity to travel to many countries. Scout Nathan Christensen They brought with them a German instrument culled a lute. The lute is an old string instrument related to the guitar, with a body shaped like half of a pear. Mrs. Barrows played the lute and together they sang a beautiful rendition of many well known love songs. Everyone really enjoyed this beautiful music. Jane B. Nathan Christenscn, 15, of Salem, received his Eagle Scout Award on Thursday, Oct. 2.2008. Nathan chose as his Eagle project to collect toys and send them to orphanages in the small country of Latvia, located on the Baltic Sea near Si. Petersburg, Russia. Nate spearheaded his project with SF Junior High School last Christmas, collecting over 550 toys. He also involved the students in a "penny war' vs. "silver" change and collected an additional $730 for postage to ship the toys. Over 480 hours were invested by Nate, the students and community in the project. Five orphanages in the outlying areas (not near a major city) received five boxes each (approx. 50 pounds) of new or gently used toys for the children. Emails exchanged assured us that all of the boxes arrived safely and the directors were grateful for the Illusions baffle and amaze Mareen Robinson SFCT make up the cast, but this way we're still involved with the excitement." David mentioned that they use the "old school" methods of using pancake makeup instead of grease paint, because it doesn't smear and they can powder it to set it. It takes longer, but they can create illusions that amaze the audience when the actor is seen up close.
