The twins recently completed a perfect season going 20-0 on the year. They capped their season by winning the State UGSA Filly Tournament held in Springville. In the weeks prior, the team captured the Pioneer Division Regular season title and also took first place in the Spanish Fork City Filly League Tournament. Ladies travel to Carbon SF Red Sox The Spanish Oaks Ladies travel golf team played the Carbon County Club Ladies at the Spanish Oaks Golf Course on Monday July 7, 2008. The weather was beautiful. Team members were Dickie Jane Sargent, Mickey Pulsipher, LaRue Taylor, Luena Ho well Francom, Gloria Christensen, Gayle Valdez, Sandi Nilsson, and Jolynn Griner. The most points taken were by the team of Luena and Jolynn. Luena also won the least putts. The team played a very competitive game and won by 86 points to 56. Congratulations gals. Gloria Christensen and LaRue Taylor played in the Alpine Country Club invitational last week. Gloria and her partner Kay Jackson won third place in their flight. LaRue and her partner Audrey Bailey tied with two other couples for fourth and fifth place. LaRue also won closest to the hole on number four and prize money. The next team play will be against the Ladies of the Reserve at East Bay Golf course. We wish our team "The Best of Luck". The Ladies will continue to play Ladies Day competition every Tuesday. Meet at the Course at 8 a.m. for pairings and information on the play of the day. We will also have a 5 p.m. tee time for the gals who want to play in the afternoon. Coach Lance Nelson. Gearing up for Fiesta Days and fall Matt Marziale SF PARKS & REC. Youth Tackle Football The time has arrived to sign up for youth tackle football. Tackle league are offered for boys 6-9 grade. The three league play eleven man football and compete in the Nebo Football League. This league will include teams from Springville, Payson and Salem. Youth will start football camp July 28 and work out with Coach Matt Christensen and his staff for two weeks. Following camp, the boys will be divided on to teams and begin practice the second week of August: Why would you want your child to play here? 1) Team sizes are small so your child will play; 2) Gas prices are high, why travel farther than Springville or Payson? Most games are played in Spanish Fork; and 3) Back ground checks are run on all coaches. Cost: players fees are $70 if paid prior to July 10. Come in to the recreation office or go on line to www. spanishfork.org for more information. Men's Baseball It is time to gather your gear and friends. Men wanting to play in the 30 over baseball league or the 20 over league should register now. Team registration is accepted at $1,200 per team. Individuals without a team may call in and be added to a player looking list. League play will begin in August. Post season play will begin in late October and conclude the first of November. For more information call SF Recreation at 798^068. Flag Football Youth flag football season is coming quickly. Spanish Fork Recreation offers league for boys going in to 3^1 grades and 5-6 grades. Flag football camp is held August '4-8, 2008 with instruction from Coach Matt Christensen. Teams will be divided following camp and practice will start the following week. Fiesta Days Wiffle Ball New to this year's fiesta is the RDJ Embroidery wiffle ball tournament. This event will be a hit as high school aged youth and adults square off in this organized front yard gameTeams for three to five players will play in three different divisions: High School age, Adult Recreation or Adult Professional.
