Show WEDNESDAY, JUNE 6, 2007 - B3 Covering what matters most Nebo announces retirees Jayne Anderson Jayne Anderson, secretary at Mapleton Junior High, is retiring from Nebo School District after 20 years of service. Mrs. Anderson spent 19 years at Springville Middle and one year at Mapleton Junior. Jayne said, "It has been a privilege to work with the great students and educators at Springville Middle and Mapleton Junior. I have made so many awesome friends. I am so grateful for the experience." Jayne enjoys scrap booking, crocheting, family and traveling. She is married to Tim. They reside in Spanish Fork and have four children. Barbara Jorgensen Barbara Jorgensen, baker and cook at Mt. Loafer, is retiring from Nebo School District after 23 years of service. Barbara said, "When I first decided to go to work when my youngest child started school, I decided school lunch was a good fit for a mother of four. I would be home when the kids were home. It was fun, something different to do every day and adult talk. I worked with and made lifelong friends. I loved to work with all the kids too. I found out a lot more than 1 wanted to sometimes. All in all,' I've very much enjoyed the years I've worked for the Nebo School District." Barbara's favorite quote is, "He has achieved success who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has enjoyed the trust of pure women, the respect of intelligent men and the love of little children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who has left the world better than he found it, whether by an improved poppy a perfect poem or a rescued soul; who has never lacked appreciation of Earth's beauty or failed to express it; who has always looked for the best in others and given them the best he had; whose life was an inspiration; whose memory a benediction." Barbara is married to Lee. They reside in Salem and have four children. J. Frank Mecham J. Frank Mecham, custodian at the Nebo Learning Center, is retiring from Nebo School District after 25.7 years of service. Frank said, "Wow, retirement sure is nice! Let's go fishing. I don't know how I had time to work before I retired." Frank takes pride in doing everything the best it can be done. Above all, Frank cares about everyone and always sacrifices his own time and resources to help everybody else. He is a great friend to all. Frank is married to Michelle and they reside in Spanish Fork. Ann Stallings Ann Stallings, bus driver in transportation, is retiring Jayne Anderson Barbara Jorgensen J. (6/6) Claudine Spencer Benson Claudine Spencer Benson, foods teacher at Spanish Fork Junior, is retiring from Nebo School District after 29 years of service. She has another eight years outside the district. Ms. Benson taught clothing for 18 years and foods for 31 years simultaneously in the eight and ninth grades. She received the Crystal Apple Award and is involved in the National, Utah and Nebo Education Associations. Ms. Benson replied, "Students learn best with 'hands on' experience. That which is learned without pleasure is forgotten without regret." Claudine enjoys horses, skiing, biking, reading and genealogy. She was raised on a farm west of Payson and was taught how to work. She resides in Spanish Fork and has two daughters and one grandson. Elaine Burnham Elaine Burnham, firstgrade teacher at Brockbank, is retiring from Nebo School District after 21 years of service.
