The new program will complement the department's own Master' of Accountancy program, which continues to train outstanding CPAs. Leading the univer ity's expanding horizons to the global society, SUU's business department is spearheading an "experiential" international bus.ines!l program. The department has set up faculty and student exchanges with the International University of Moscow (IUM) in Russia. The IUM is the first priva tely funded university in Russia. This fall five SUU students will exchange desks with their Russian counterparts. The cost to these students to attend the Russian university will be roughly the same as attending SUU. The SUU students hope to experience first hand the struggles Russia is facing turning to a free market economy. The Russian students coming to SUV hope to gain a better perspective on how a free economy operates. Both Russian and American students will also study the other country's culture and language. Also new this fall will be a sequence of three insurance courses, including an internship with a major insurance agency. Insurance professionals will assist with the instruction, which will teach the uses of insurance and prepare students to enter the insurance industry. Upon successful completion of the insurance sequence and graduation, outstanding students will receive job offers fr~m the internship sponsors. The new two-year MBA program will result in a Master's degree from Utah State University. Friday afternoon and Saturday morning classes will allow students to continue their full time jobs while earning the MBA degree. To help teach the growing number of students choosing SUU business studies, the department will add two new professors this fall to its current 16. Like all business and accounting professors, the new faculty will have extensive real world business experience in addition to outstanding academic credentials.
