Bicycles, laundry are the prime targets for thieves Theft prevention may be worth the added expense of lock and key. Bicycles are the prime targets of theft at SUU, according to Campus Security, so the advice of "Lock it or lose it," and "Watch bikes ride without you," should be well-known to srudents-especially those who depend on their bikes for transportation. Theft and alcohol-related incidences are the majority of crimes committed at SUU, with burglary and assault ranking second. Burglary, for the past three years, has reported a minor fluctuation of eight t:o 10 occurrences. However, many stolen items go unreported. On campus housing is among the targets for theft and burglary. In recent years' students have experienced theft from the laundry facilities. Crimes such as these go unreported but can be prevented by not leaving unattended laundry for long periods of time. The penalty for theft depends largely on the value of the article stolen. Most are considered class B misdemeanors with a maximum jail term of six months and/or a $1,(X)() fine. Bridal sets 1/4 ct.
