The instrument de ign that Bulter plays are based o n the ancient harps of the Celtic lands that were carried by the harpers tluough the countryside, brin ing mu ic and tale to the people. Butler' larger harp is a ne~eltic, nylontrung harp with 33 strings. Her hronze-strung harp, with 26 strings, is fashioned after the older harps.
