Our groups are always improving and should give good performances this year, said Hal K. Campbell, head of the music department. There are several music groups at SUU, including a band which marches and performs at athletic events, small ensembles, choirs and an orchestra. There will be recitals during fall quarter by all of these groups except the band, and there will be one faculty and two student recitals. We try to feature the pierforming groups in the fall, says Campbell. During winter quarter we also try to feature soloists in a concerto concert. When attending a recital there are rules of concert etiquette to remember. First, try to arrive on time. If you are late, wait for a break in the music before entering. Also dont leave early. Be quiet while the music is playing. This means not talking, rustling your program or smacking your gum. Please wait until the end of the full piece before applauding.
