There, at the Southern Utah State College Ranch, 11 miles up beautiful Cedar Canyon, the traditions of ancient Caledonia will be revived in music, dance, sports, and food on July 21 and 22. Under the sponsorship of SUSC, the Scottish tournament pits piper against piper, dancer against dancer, athlete against athlete. Summer Dance Program offers classical ballet classes The Southern Utah State Summer Dance Program announces a series of classical ballet workshops led by Nina Marlow, a member of one of the most prominent and acclaimed families in ballet history. Marlow will bring her talent and professional skill to southern Utah July offering both beginner and advanced classes to the public. Marlow began her professional training at the age of eight with her mothers company, the Irene Fokine Ballet. Marlows great uncle, Michael Fokine, is celebrated as the father of contemporary ballet and her grandmother, Alexandra Fedorova-Fokin- e studied in the famous Marinsky Theatre School in Petrograd, Russia. Marlow has studied at the American Ballet Theatre and has worked professionally at Radio City Music Hall as well as with the Alicia Alonso Ballet de Cuba in Havana, Cuba. Marlow has danced Giselle, the Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Mayerling and Romeo and Juliet with the Irine Fokine Ballet Company. Beginner classes will study basic ballet instruction and background history of ballet. Advanced classes will also study classical ballet, but Marlow will teach a classical variation according to class level of training and ability. The fee for either class is $75 and arrangements can be made for Continuing Education credit with an additional processing fee.
