Julie Stuart, ASSUSC president, encouraged all students to attend the forum as she is interested in hearing students opinions about the fee hike. Soviet peace activist Kairat Umorov will present a guest lecture April 4, the day after he takes part in a nonviolent direction action at the Nevada nuclear weapons test site. The nonviolent action will occur simultaneously with a protest by the Nevada Movement, the largest peace movement in Soviet history at a USSR nuclear testing site. The lecture, at noon in Zions Conference Room, concerns upcoming action at the Nevada test site and a peace planned in conjunction with Nevada encampment in Desert Experiences Lenten Holy Week. il SUSC sponsors tours to U.S. parks, Hawaii expansion slots I Only895 640KB RAM A Night Before Nationals reception is planned for Tuesday at 7:30-8:3- 0 p.m. for students to meet and show support to members of SUSCs forensic squad competing in the national forensic tournament April 7 at the University of Alabama. I.E. Coach Mark T. Morman said, We have eleven members qualified to go to nationals and each will be performing. MAIN 586-340- 1 Natural History and photography tours planned for 1990-9- 1 invite participants to visit our national parks, Hawaii, and to hike the Grand Canyon from rim to rim. The parks and Hawaii tours are sponsored through SUSCs Division of Continuing Education; SUSCs Geology Club is sponsoring the Grand Canyon hike. The national parks tour scheduled for Aug. 30 through Sept. 7, includes a visit to Yellowstone, Glacier and Grand Teton National Parks. Sightseers will trace the path of the Snake River, see geysers erupt and watch bison roam the range. Replies are due June 1. The Grand Canyon north to south rim hike is scheduled for Oct. The 23 mile treck will take hikers through 2.5 billion years of geologic time and seven life zones, with the possibility of snow on the rim and sunbathing at the river. Limited spaces will e be filled on a basis; deposits are now being accepted. In Hawaii, July 1991, participants will see a foil solar eclipse as well as study the cultural and natural history of the islands. Replies are due Jan. 1, 1991.
