Show The Thunderbird Monday March 31, 1986 Obnoxious couple ruined Romeo TO THE EDITOR: On March 13, we were able to the theatre departments see production of Romeo and Juliet. We had seen past productions and knowing the quality of the theatre department, we were excited to see this one. Granted, in this nights show, the cast and crew had a few problems, but overcame them well. Overall, their interpretation of Romeo and Juliet was very well done, from what we could tell. We were seated behind a college couple who were just plain rude through the whole play. The man (or should say boy) continually sighed loudly whenever there w'as a pause or kiss. They both made loud comments and laughed when someone seemed to have forgotten 1 a line. In one scene, the nures appeared on the balcony and yelled, Shes dead, shes deceased. The girl said in a loud u'hiny voice, Who would sav deceased?" Throughout the whole night, these two kept up their obnoxious noises, their laughing and sighing. We feel it is a privilege to be able to see our theatre departments mainstage productions free. When people like that show up and ruin it for the rest of us, it makes us think that maybe they should start charging. That w'ay, the people who really want to see it will come and those who just think of it as a free date wont come. If that couple wanted to laugh at the actors, they should get on stagG sometime and try it themselves.. We think then, wed have one hell of a comedy. 33 North Main Street, Cedar City Utah 84720.
