Show Paqe 6 The Thunderbird Monday November 25, 1985 The Publications Council is now accepting applications for student members The Council is responsible for the selection of editors, approval of budgets and the hearing of complaints for student publications such as The Thunderbird. Winter registration set Registration for winter quarter classes at SUSC starts Monday, Dec. 2. Actual classwork begins Jan. 6. The Monday registration is reserved for seniors and students finishing the associate degree or certificates of completion, SUSC Registrar Barbara Young said. Registration will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the registrars office. Registration will continue Dec. 3 through 6, Young said, with students registering according to last names. The alphabetic from 9 a.m. to noon and O-- from 1 sequences are: M-from 9 a.m. to noon and U-- from 1 to 3 to 3 p.m. Tuesday; A-from 9 a.m. to noon and C-- from 1 to 3 p.m. Wednesday; G-- I from 1 to 3 from 9 a.m. to noon and and p.m. Thursday; p.m. Friday. Registration is open to all students, weekdays Dec. 9 through Dec. 22, between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The administrative offices will close Dec. 23 for the Christmas holidays. Tuition and fees must be paid by 3 p.m. Jan. 10, Young said. A $10 late fee goes into effect Jan. 13. No students will be allowed to enroll or add classes at SUSC after Jan. 17. S-- T Z F L The Council meets an average of once per quarter and members may be drawn from all corners of the student body. Ineligible for membership are Executive Council members, Senators, and staff members of student publications. Applications are available from Barbara Morgan, third floor Administration Building, and are due hack no later than 5 p.m., Monday, Dec. 2, 1985. Again Medicaid, like other programs, has requirements about assets and income. If students are below a certain level of income, then they dont have to pay anything to get medical assistance. If students earn above this level they have to provide some money toward paying the bill . In addition to the above two programs, there is a third category which is called the Utah Medical Assistance program, which is basically for adults who are between 18 and 65 years of age and are low income earners. This program covers only serious health problems and not the simple visit to the doctor. Barrick said the most common situation that this program covers assistance is childbirth.
