Senior running back Juan Henderson has been Martin, from Chino, California, led the Thunderbirds named to the first unit offensive team of RMAC and to in interceptions with six. He picked off two passes in the first game of the season and managed to get one the team. Senior offensive lineman Dale Loveland earned second team honors, as did defensive swipe in every other game thereafter. In addition, Martin finished the season with 53 lineman Keith Jensen and defensive back Rick Martin. tackles for 5.3 average, and returned punt and kickoffs Henderson, Loveland and Martin were also selected to the squad. ROCKY MOUNTAIN Two offensive linemen and two linebackers received ATHLETIC CONFERENCE honorable mention by the conference. Junior guard x T Jn Final Standings Rock Lopour, of Cedar City, and junior center Kelly f Edwards, of Fillmore, Utah, were the offensive players mentioned. Seniors Jeff Gunnarson, an outside linebacker, and Scott Robins, an inside linebacker, also received honorable mention. Henderson, from Las Vegas, rushed for an average of 83.6 yards a game for the season, gaining 836 yards on 215 carries. In addition, he caught 14 passes for 118 yards and was twice nominated as offensive player of the week in the RMAC. Loveland, from Granger, Utah, anchored the right side of the Thunderbird offensive line. Jensen, a 64 225 pound defensive tackle from Taylorsville, Utah, made 29 solo tackles during the just completed season. Jensen averaged 6.2 tackles per contest for the Thunderbirds. Gunnarson, of Midvale, Utah, was elected RMAC defensive player of the week twice, the only player to receive the honor more than once during the whole season. He won the honor for his performance against Southern Colorado and against Colorado Mines. Southern Utah won both games. Gunnarson averaged 6.2 tackles per game and recovered six fumbles on the season. Robins, a senior from Scipio, Utah, led Southern Utah in total tackles with 62 unassisted and 62 assisted for a 12.4 average. He came up with 10 quarterback sacks, 19 tackles for loss, three fumble recoveries and an interception. As defensive captain and signal caller, he spearheaded the defense throughout the year.
