Show The Thunderbird Monday October 14, 1985 Page 7 Johnson has reputation for excellent reporting (continued from page 3) murder that allegedly involved one of the gang members. Johnson went ahead with the story anyway. He says he drove his car looking at the rear-viemirror for the next couple of weeks. People who know him describe him as shy, talented, thorough and dedicated to his job. One of his colleagues says he always researches his material and Kent Johnson remembers the time a gang member threatened his life. always sounds very knowledgable on the topics he reports. Another colleague commented on how professional and objective Johnson is when it comes to reporting the news. If he has a story that involves some potential conflict of interest on his part, he will turn the story over to someone else. He has a deep concern for his journalistic ethics. A senior this year, he will be graduating with a communications degree in mass media and business administration. His next goal is graduate school. Hed like to get a masters degree in broadcast journalism with an emphasis in writing and producing. And maybe someday, if things work out, people will turn on the television every night and watch The CBS Evening News with Kent Johnson. The sun has long ago sunken into the deep blue sky and the day has come to an end. Radio alarm clocks around the city are being reset, reminders of the day to come. All dependent, of course, on Kent Johnsons flick of a switch.
