Hot on the heels of a.n extremely casual Jubilee on Monday Night, Homecoming Week took a rum for the better with an incredibly funny and active "SUU Srudsn show, Tuesday eve. The show had !are-coming students packed a dozen deep itting on the Thorley Recital Hall floor. Troy Meeks, a senior Communication major from Cheyenne, Wyo. and resident host, had the Stud , Studette and howling crowd eating out of h.is palms. His quick wit was helpful when the show's star-students were at a loss for words. When the first group of Swds were on hand, Casie Salmon, a freshman from Cedar City kept stumbling when asked how she would describe her date with senior Spanish major and recent Phoenix, AZ. resident Chad Atwood. Meeks quipped, "Please speak in complete sentences, Casie." The fonnat began with two Stud explaining their side of the dates they had been on within the past week. The first group of Studs included Troy Blanchard, a freshman from Las Vegas, Nev. and Atwood. They had arranged three separate dates each with Tasha Hunt, a fre hman cheerleader from Cedar City; Crystal Olwn, a sophomore from Filmore; and Salmon. PETERSON Thunderbird Editor If srudcnts have mis ed out on going to the Homecoming events thus far, they have certainly been missing out However, those who have been here long enough to remember previous year's Homecomings, the best is yet to come. But apart from other Homecoming weeks this go-round will feature activities that gives Homecoming its name. Today, members of the SUU (then, Branch Agricultural School) class of 1943 and those who graduated previous to that year will assemble together to celebrate the clas of' 43 50. Year Anniver ary at the school' annual SO.Year Club Lmcheon. The luncheon will be preceded by a President's Reception for all member at 11 a.m. in the Cedar Breaks room. of the R. Haze Hunter Conference Center. The class of '43 gathering will begin at 1 p.m. io the Steve Gilbert Great Hall. Tjckets arc $8, and all parking spaces in from the SUU Auditorium will be reserved for 50.Year Club members. This evening's activities will light up with comedian Rusty McGee busting guts at the quartet's second Starlight Club. Gigi love will be opening with Rob Gruner at 8 p.m.. at the Harris Pavilion. ]ennil,n Prior, a sophomore Bwsiness major from Springville, and Derek VanNess a freshman from Sand-, also majoring in Busine.u , were crowned Homecoming Qween and King on Monda, Night's Jt.tbilte.
