Monica Moe. or anyone in Student Government for more inbnnation. 1992 Tailwind The Tailuxnd, SUU's literary magazine, is now accepting applications for associate editors and staff members for the 1992 magazine. Editors and staff are needed in each of the folowing areas: POETRY. SHORT STORY. FICTION. ESSAY. DRAMA. Submission brms can be picked up from the secretary in the language and Literature department located on the top floor of the Braithwaite Center. the Library Circulation desk. the secretary in the Student Pctivities Office in the Student Center. or the secretary in the Art department located in the Centrum. If there are any questions. please cal Jake Shwmake at 586-5389. Student Senate The Student Senate is the go.terning body of the Southern Utah Uliversity Student Association (SUUSA). Each college on campus is represented tty three senators who act as personal representatives for the students in their college. The responsibiities of the senate are varied and broad in scope. They ind.xie: allocation of student ~es. investigation of academic issues. investigation of campus needs. and represe.ntation of the students' needs. Other activit.ies sponsored tty the senate indude: Spedel Projects Every year, each senator sponsors one of more special projects. The n~ds of the student body set the criteria for each project. Examples of past projects include: courtesy phones. extended library hours during finals, and "Earth Day" on campus. Student Acrm Meetll... 586-7766 The Student Senate hosts quarterly student access meetings. The purpose of this meeting is to allow every student the opportunity to express their concerns and opinions. The senate values student comments and makes them part of their agenda. Senate Dale Located in the Student Center are the Student Government offices. where there is always a senator available to help you between the hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The senate desk is located directly through the entrance of the student government offices. The attending senator can help you with anything from purchasing discount movie tickets to getting involved in campus life. You're Always Welcome!
