There he placed third. He now has three trophies, two basketballs (one signed by the entire Jazz team) and lots of fun memories. Brandon is the son of Matt and Julie Brown and grandson of Marlin and Delores Brown. ,v Their opponents were the Fredonia Lynx with the game takingplace at the Kanab Middle School. The Junior Cowboys led the Lynx 28-1- 8 at the half on their way to a big 70-3- 5 victory. Kanab was led by Lance Brown who schooled the Lynx for 23 points. Matt Pepper contributed 15, including 7 of 8 free throws, while Josh Blasdell added 14. Jacob Christensen was high scorer for the Lynx, netting 12 points, teammate while Jonathon Ellis threw in eight. LTC-UL-9- 3. rsmm Cowboy wrestlers excel at SUU Classic Four Kanab Cowboy wrestlers participated in the SUU Wrestling Classic held February 15 at Cedar City. All Utah state in champions and runners-u- p 1A, 2A and 3A were invited. Yates Wright defeated the 3A state champion from Cedar City in the 189 weight class and was named the Outstanding Wrestler in the tournament Peter Kloepfer wrestled in the 275 division and defeated the 1A state champion to claim first place. Kloepfer was outweighed by over 60 pounds. Tim Clarkson placed second in the Classic at 130 , losing in the championship matdi to four-tim- e 1A state champion Cody Moat of Duchesne. Jared Farnsworth claimed third place, beating the 1A state champ in the first round All the wrestlers were treated to a formal dinner and banquet after the tournament, where they were presented with personalized plaques, gold medals and a fashionable cap. |
