Many of us in Fredonia have received phone calls in support of Mr. Bingham. Our children have been forced to bring home notes in support of meetings for Mr. Bingham. Our children have also been forced to listen to teachers complain about the school board and how upset they are and how upset the children should be about Mr. Bingham. Did any of these teachers ask these kids how they felt when their parents lost their jobs at Kaibab? These teachers should not be allowed to use our children and try to get them upset. As parents, when we go to the elementary school to visit our childrens teachers they talk to us about how we should support him. And if we try to find out whats going on and go to the meetings that the PTO organizes we are given papers that support him. I feel we are all beingpushed arid forced to support him and I know some of what Ive been told by his supporters is not true. As a parent with several children I have been to the school often. I believe that he does not treat all our children equal. He has told me on several occasions that he has never seen parents or children as irresponsible or of such a low caliber as the ones in this area. His supporters are many of the parents he has talked badly about. We do not know the facts of why Mr. Binghams contract was not renewed. He was asked by the committee to show everyone what was in his personnel File but, he purposely will not show us his complete evaluation. Why did he only show part of it? What is he hiding? Not long ago a school board in Arizona was recalled for not renewing an administrators contract. When the new board went on they still had to let him go because they supposedly found out he had been embezzling money. Every situation is different, but what does this tell us? We do not know the facts! And was doing a good job, then for sure I would know that I wasnt. Also, I am shocked that there are money jugs in the Texaco and Conoco for Mr. Bingham when over 200 people in our area have lost their jobs. Mr. Binghams salary is public knowledge and I asked and found out that he makes $44,000 a year, and his wife works as a teacher too! Together they make three times what most of the workers at Kaibab have made and their jobs end February 1. Mr. Binghams job will last until at leasts June so why does he need a jug for money to pay for legal fees? He should have to pay his own legal fees. And its going to be a lot easier for him to find a new job than the Kaibab workers. And where were all these people and jugs when Kiabab workers were losingtheir jobs? I dont want to help pay legal fees, and as a taxpayer Im already going to have to help pay for the recall election, and its going to be money we should On home schooling session. with the library. Dear Editor: After reading your (Mr. Stockards) letter to the editor, Jan. 25, 1 must say you left there with quite a few me-sittin- mixed emotions. As a fellow veteran, I was very surprised at some of the com- ments you made. We are a blessed people who live in these United States. From the beginning ofher history, many have shed their blood, sacrificed their normal lives, and given a fewyears of their lives to preserve the freedoms we have today. The freedom to live where we choose, to come and go as we please, to worship in such a manner that is best for us, to pick and choose our careers, and so on. We also have the freedom to educate our children in any manner as we feel is best for them. Just a couple of days ago, my eight year old learned about our freedom of speech and the great responsibility that goes along See HOME SCHOOL, Page 6 have been spending on our childrens education. Im not going to any more of these meetings because I feel too many people are running on emotion with no facts. Maybe some of these people are taking their anger about Kaibab out on the school board. I wonder if all of these people are really in support of Mr. Bingham, I wonder if some of them just want a cause and someone to yell at and blame. Before we all turn against our neighbors and elected officials we should get our facts. Not just the gossip and hearsay we are being fed. And lets help those truly in need and out of work. I wish I felt I could sign my name, but I dont want this group of people plotting to hurt me. Ive sen that they cant handle any suggestion or idea different from their own so they try to embarrass or ridicule us if we say anything. I for one will not follow blindly or sign any petition or give any money without ALL the facts. A concerned parent in Fredonia Planning for retirement has never been more profitable.
