Show SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS - Thursday, Novembar 12, 1S81 - Paga Four to Wed Mitchell-Moor- e ALTON It may be the first of this Thanksgiving month, but its not too early to start counting our blessings. The speaker at Church Sunday reminded us how fragile this life really is. We somehow think it will stay the same, but sickness, sadness and even tragedy can easily happen to us. We especially need to appreciate our health and our families, they can both be taken away from us so easily. Never regret your last words to your loved ones. This week Im caught at the eleventh hour without a phone to call folks or the energy to run them down so this will be short and sweet. Vickie Heaton was home from school as well as Terry Heaton. He was only here briefly, however, on his way to Cedar City to attend Homecoming activities and church with a gal. Angela Heaton had family here from Blanding. It was her mother's first visit to Angelas new home here. Ferril Heatons ulcer can take a brief rest now between volleyball and basketball seasons. He and his family, as well as Karen Crosby, watched Valleys girls make a valiant effort at Regional playoffs, then State playoffs this last weekend in Green River. Our gitls Gwen Crosby and Sarah Bladh are on the team and did their best when they played. Next year maybe the team can take the honors. Congratulations to David Palmer, who was made a Priest last week. It was great Set Date Spira-Johnso- n By line Bryner to see him at the sacrament table for the first time Sunday. They attended the Ward Bazaar at the Cultural Hall on Saturday evening and enjoyed the dinner, auction, visiting, and the country store. Members of this good family plan to get together for Thanksgiving at the Coleman home. Betty and Hans Sorensen went to Las Vegas to visit with their daughter Lori and husband, Kent Brinkerhoff, and family, a young son and two daughters. They had a pleasant trip and good visit Saturday and returned home in time to attend Sacrament meeting morning. And speaking of Sunday morning meetings: Our lesson in Relief Society, given by our very capable, charming and motherly teacher, Sandy Heaton, who has five sons and a beautiful new daughter, was on a principle truly dear to our hearts: the blessing and value c work. Sandy always elicits wonderful response in her lessons and today it was especially good, with lots of wonderful thoughts, experiences and ideas brought out to help us make the Gospel of Work" and more interesting and worthwhile product of living. Our Valley High girls went to Greenriver to play tournament volleyball. Perhaps the school reporter will tell you about the games, but I wanted to mention that many of our girls participate in these school activities, about 17 of them, and mothers who can go with them are happy to do so. This time, Dorothy Norton and Karen Crosby went with the girls, accompanied by Principal Richard McMullin. While the outcome of the games was win and lose, we are proud of the girls and feel them truly representative of the good high school in Orderville. Mrs. Alfred Crofts (Ona Russell) came down from Richfield this past week to visit with her brother, Eugene Russell. She spent much of her time getting genealogy information. Ona is an expert genealogist and loves the work.
