Cram The Fredonia PTO will hold its school carnival Saturday, April 15 with the fun beginning at 10 a.m. and lasting until 4 p.m. There will be cotton candy, snow cones, balloons, a clown to take your picture and artists to sketch your portrait, games to test your skdl and all kinds of goodies at the bake sale table. Come have fun and help raise money to finarce a bike rally. The annual art exhibit at the Fredonia school wll be held April 27, 28, and 29, so think ahead and plan to have art work and crafts to Mr. Dennett by the 22nd. In the Mountain States the median value was $16,300. Within Utah, the report notes that the most expensive housing was found in Holladay (an unincorporated suburban community within Salt Lake County) where the median value of single-famil- y homes was $26,600. The lowet median values were listed for Piute County ($7,300) and Juab County ($7,800). According to the report, the value extremes in Utah housing are not as great as they are naof the owner- tionwide. Also visiting at the Jensen home was their daughter Gerry and her son Karl from Scottsdale. Helen Bennett returned with them for a visit. Gene and Loretta Mitchell had all the family home for Easter: Mr. and Mrs. Ron Parker and sons from Las Vegas, Nev.; Mr. and Mr. Wayne Knape (Evelyn) and children from Scottsdale; and LoRal Linton from SUSC in Cedar City. Ted Jensen is home from his studies at Northern Arizona University for Easter vacation visiting with his parents the PAT Jensens. Carl Ellison made a business trip to Kingman Monday and returned home Tuesday evening. Mt. This meet will feature some of the most outstanding horses in the intermountain area, running for a total of more than $30,000 in purses. The race meet will be held at the Dixie Downs Race Track two miles west of St. George, and will include both day and night racing. The first days racing (April 7) trails at 10 a.m. and racing again at 7:30 in the evening. April 8 the races begin at 5 p.m. On the 14th they will start at 7:30 and then at 5 p.m. will begin with on April 15. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Spencer and family of Phoenix, Arizona spent the Easter weekend at the Chester Tait home. Mrs. Delin Roundy and sons of Panguitch visited at the LaMar DeMille home Saturday. Monday, Mrs. Dorothy DeMille and her daughter Peggy McDonald went to Springdale to visit at the Gene DeMille home. Mr. Kirk Covington of Salt Lake City spent Easter with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Covington. Also home for Easter was Miss Angie Reese at the John A. Hostesses for the evening were Lucille Rascoe, Ida Riggs and Nell Jones. Club president Nell Jones conducted the meeting where a report was made on the recent Red Cross drive, and a nominating committee was chosen to take care of coming election. Twelve members were present to enjoiy the meeting and delicious luncheon. Kanab News Notes Jana Otts folks, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Slade and Verona, and her grandmother, Mrs. Fousts enjoyed the Easter weekend in Kanab. Mr. and Mrs. Carlyle Hulet spent the weekend in Las Vegas, Nev. Word was received recently of the arrival of a baby boy, bom to Mr. and Mrs. Gary Cox (Gary is former resident of Kanab) of California. Gary and his wife Dorothy have three girl and two boys now. Proud grandparents are Vivian and Ray Bunting of Kanab. And happy aunt and uncle here are Vi and Art Brown. The State Road Commission of Utah prohibited the studded tires last year, but, granted an extension for one more winter season so that Utahns could get another seasons wear out of their existing studs. Utah and other states are now prohibiting studded tires because of the excessive and dangerous wear they cause to pavement surfaces.
