The Seventh graders are trying to get used to a new schedule, the mores are patiently awaiting their drivers licenses, and the Seniors are dreaming of grad uation. The mighty Cowboys have played two games, one at Virgin Valley and Hurricane. And even though they came out we feel that they made a good showing. The spirit the team and student-bodis so great that it is boiling over. So watch out! We hope that the town is behind the Cowboys and will show that they are by being out to every game supporting us. KIIS is looking forward to Homecoming on October 15. An exciting football game with Parowan is scheduled. Also a dance that night with KIIS own combo, the Crypt Kickers, supplying the beat. Kanab youth is Eagle Scout Funeral service Ordervillo for LaVier Tail news notes Funeral services, held Wednesday, September 15 for LaVier C. Tait of Fredonia, who passed away September 13th were as follows. Bishop Arland Brooksby conducted from the Fredonia Wae rd Chapel Prelude and music was by Esther S. Heaton. Leo Beckwith offered' home prayer. The choir sang. One Sweetly Solemn Thought, under direction of LeRoy C. Heaton. Keith Bryncr offered the opening prayer, followed by a quartet singing, 111 Go Where You Want Me To Go, those singing were Allen Judd, Freston Bro oksby, LeRoy Heaton and Rey Black. Orville Buslunan was the first speaker. Marden Lamb and Garland Tait sang, Jesus Lover cl My Soul. Tribute to LaVier, written by his sister Mrs. Reva Anderson was read by Vilate Esplin. A solo. Face To Face, was sung by Becky Bundy, with Wood-roJohnson being the concluding speaker. The choir sang, I Need Thee Every Hour, with Wilford Brooksby offering benediction. An uncle, Arch L. Iloopes, dedicated the grave with burial in the ML Carmel Cemetery. Pall bearers were Merlin Bundy, Darrol Heaton, John B. Jordan, DeMoin Sorensen, Robert Figgins and Evan Lewis. Honorary pall bearers were Garland, Adrian and Kendall Tait,; Lawrence Esplin Jr., Richard Esplin, I. Mack Esplin and John Jay Esplin. Mrs. Perry Lamb and Linda left for Salt Lake Sunday to visit Monday and Tuesday. Carson Tait, son of Mrs. Tail visited the LeNard Johnson home over the weekend. Mrs. Tait and Steve, Patti and Nan came Sunday to take him home and to visit. Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Levan-ge- r attended the open house held for Mr. and Mrs. Jense McCormck in Fredonia Saturday night. Sanderson, director of financial aids and scholarships, said today. The scholarships are awarded to one member of each Utah high school graduating class nominated by his principal as the most outstanding student among those who intend to enroll at the University. They are also available to two similarly designated members of each junior college. All recipients must be residents of Utah. Kanab Lions at Conference Four members of the Kanab Lions attended the annual Leadership Conference of District 28 H of International Lions at Richfield Sunday afternoon and evening. Sylvan Johnson, president of Kanab Lions; Arlen Jensen, secretary; U. S. Gardner, membership chairman and Errol C. Bown, public relations, were among the 70 Lions from nearly all the clubs in District 28 II at the Conference. Elder Johnson will serve a two year mission for the LDS Church in the West Central States Mission. A graduate of Kanab High School, class of 1964, Elder Johnson attended Dixie College during the past school year. He has been employed in Kanab during the summer months.
