To Advertise Cedar City Can southern Utah scenery attract a given segement of a certain area at a given time of the year? That is what the Five Count j Organization is going to find out. It h.is only a small hudget, as advertising dollars go, to determine the answer. The executive committee of the organization, headed by William Brulin, Panguitch, chairman, $53,000 will spend $2,500 to bid tourists in the Ixis Angeles area to visit Utah between Sept. 5 and Oct 15 Each of the five counties, Gar- field, Kane, Washington, Iron, and Beaver, will give $500 for the project. Sept. 15 to 0t. 15 has been selected because it is a slump season as far as tourist are concerned. Many people have taken their vacations, children returned to school and it is before the deer season. Yet during this period southern Utahs scenery Is best with its autumn col- ors. The Los Angeles area has been selected, because, according to Mr. Bruhn, more California people visited the Utah National Parks last year than all other states combined. Also the Los Angeles area is close so that week end trip can be made extened -- trips.! Accommodations are adequate during the Sept. Oct. period and large influxes of tourists can be handled then, it was explained. The campaign will be managed through the Utah Department of Publicity.
