This is the first plan worked up where the Bureau of Land Management and the Soil Conservation Service have cooperated in assisting ranchers with intermixed federal, state, and private land. In the past,- the Soil Conservation Service, through the local Soil Conservation district, has worked only on privately owned or state leased land and the Bureau of Land Management has worked only on the federal lands. It was unusual when the technicians of the two agencies were trying to get the rancher to follow the same plan. It also was difficult to work out a lot of details because, in most cases, what is done on land of one ownership depends upon what is to be done .on adjacent land under another ownership. By working together like this, we have all known all along what the other was thinking and have ended up with a plan. - at the present time, however. The Kanab Chamber of Commerce reported that the Kane County Commissioners had been approached and asked to contribute $500.00 to the Trail Organization, but that, up to the present, they had been unsuccessful in securing it, but that they would continue their efforts to secure the funds. It was the consensus of opinion that an attempt should be made to hold the next meeting at LeeVining, California, or one of the communities in that area, and the secretary was Instructed to write a letter to the Mono County (California) Chamber of Commerce and ask them to urge their organization to host a meeting for the month of September. The meeting was adjourned with instructions for all members to be present at the dinner meeting at Crosbys Cafe at 8:00 Y-- Z p.m. D. W. Except for a few spots that are high or low apd can be taken care of by floating, they have about 50 acres levelled. They also have made good progress on one of the two dams that they are building. Last week .Velden measured the dam installed by Grandon Holgate on his ranch on Mineral ' wash.
