Mrs. Edna Shields publicity director for the County said that blood is badly needed. Watch for' further announcement, and plan to give your blood Tuesday, July 29th. VOLUME XXVI NO. 40 , KANAB, UTAH, THURSDAY, JULY 17, 1958 $3.50 Yearly, 10c. Single 9 Fredonia Water Conservation District Public Officials Install Chlorinator, Plans Being Studied To Double Present Svstem Question Haws TO Ranchers Asked To Report Shootings Those persons engaged in the livestock business in Kane County are urged to be alert and report to the Sheriff of Kane County any strange automobile or shooting from automobiles or from the highway. If any suspicious cars are observed, get a description of the car and the license number, if possible," the Sheriff urges, and turn' the information in to us without delay. Sheriff Johnson reports that 13 head of livestock have been killed, either maliciously or accidently, during the past year. If the killing is to be stopped, all citizens must cooperate fully with the Sheriffs office. The area to be patrolled is too extensive for proper police coverage at all times. Lions Elect International President Work will begin Tuesday, July the installation of a chlorinator for the Fredonia Water Conservation District water, supply. The Water District supplies the residents of the Town of Fredonia and the Kaibab Lumber Companys Fredonia mill with domestic and industrial water. This installation is the culmination of more than a years efforts on the part of the Board of Directors to find the proper kind of chlorinator to be used for their peculiar problem. A PhoeHardware nix firm, Co., is supplying the chlorinator and the metered valve. The labor for-t- he small building to house the unit will be supervised by Board President Eldon H. Johnrt son. At a recent meeting with the Town Council, the question was discussed that the water districts boundaries be enlarged to include the whole Town limits. This question has been talked about by property owners for several years. This would about double the present size of the Fredonia Water Conservation District and include the approxiof the present mately users within the taxable District boundaries. Board Secretary Lor-iM. Farr jr. was authorized to investigate the possibilities of such expansion and to report his .findings at the next regular meeting of the Board. one-thir- d Unemployed Workers Eligible For ?Z iby Higher Pay July Tth 4' -- Dudley L.
