Dixon told the Southern Utah News in a telephone message Wednesday morning of this week. Dixon said that Congressman he has been working on the service for Kanab during the past several weeks, and that Chairman James R. tlufree of the Civil Aeronautics Board, has assured him that a hearing will be set for Kanab in from five to six weeks to determine if Kanab can justify the need for air service on Bonanzas line from Salt Lake City to Phoenix, Ariz. Mr. Dixon said that he would get in touch with Kanab City officials in the near future and arrange for a meeting place to hold the hearings by CAB sometime in September. He said that be felt sure that the airUnes company will serve Kanab if we can show cause for same. Kanab has at present time a fine airstrip that is a little more than a mile long, that is adequate for Bonanzas needs. Congressman Dixon said that if Kanab ran show the need for the air service that it would be possible to work with the Civil eronautics Administration to help secure funds for the administration building that ss ill be needed for the air sen ice.
