Show SOUTHERN Page Four Farm Workers, Employers Heed To Kr.on Social Security Anesdnisnls And Changes Rules covering farm workers under social security changed beginning January ,1957, Mr. Kesler T. Powell, manager of the Provo, Utah social security office, reminded farm today. Changes were included in recent amendments to the Social Security Act. "If a farm employer pays a worker $150 or more in cash during 1957, the cash pay is covered by law, Mr. Powell said. "Also, even if the worker falls to earn as much as $150 cash pay from a farm employer but works for that employer on 20 or more days in 1957 for cash pay figured on a time basis rabasis, ther than on a piece-rat- Dr. Basil C. MacLean Largs Gather! the pay is covered. The total number of days worked and the manner of figuring the pay do not count if the worker meets the $150 a year test. Farm employers are required to keep accurate records of the amounts paid to farm workers who will meet either the wage or time test during the year. Their cash pay for 1957 must be reported next January. A panel of hospital adminstrators will present a discussion on the same topic following Mr. Snows talk. V Operation Flower Seed" Is now underway hi the fire stricken Malibu area of California. More than 16,000 pounds of assorted flower seeds were donated to Los Angeles County by the American Seed Trade Association to assist in the rehabilitation and beautification of more than 30,000 aeres of Malibu destroyed in the raging blaze this winter. County officials are shown transferring sacks of the seed to helicopters which are sowing the seeds on the hills and other spots. Boy and Girl Scouts, Civil Defense workers and other volunteers are also sowing other areas with the seed, which is valued at $150,000.
