Judd Leadership Classes 88th Anniversary During Past Week Another milestone was reached this week in the lives of Uncle Willis and Aunt Addie Little who celebrated their 66th Wedding Anniversary quietly at at the home of their son, Rell Little in Kanab. Those present included the children and grand children of the elderly couple. They came to this unusual day in good health and spirits, able to be around and do many of the little pleasant things about the home they so much enjoy. Mr. and Mrs. Little are now the oldest couple in Kanab. They were married in the St. George Temple and have spent their lives in Kanab. Uncle Willis has been in the livestock industry all his life and rode the ranges with many generations. Aunt Addie has spent her .life in patiently doing for others and in church work. By Myrtle Bean Kane Countys Delegates to the Republicans $100 a plate dinner were Mrs. Lola Swapp of Kanab and Burke Sorensen of Orderville, last Friday night at the Rainbow Rendezvous in Salt Lake City. Lola reports that 1100 people sat down to a fine dinner served by the Hotel Utah. She said that they were told It took 230 people to prepare and serve the dinner. The main feature of the program was a television broadcast for these dinners which were being held all over the country by President Eisenhower. Governor J. Bracken Lee and Mrs. Lee were among those presell t. The Governor introduced the main speaker of the evening, Senator Goldwater of Arizona. Other speakers were Mr. O. J. Wilkinson. State Chairman for the Republican Party in Utah and Mrs. Alex Jex, National Committeewoman from Utah who represents the Utah Republican Womens Organization in .Washington, D.C. Barbara and Whit the Christmas Cantata presented by both the Kanab wards in Kanab and Fredonia. He is a former music director of the Kanab High School Where his music abilities have been acclaimed by people from far and wide, and during which time he gained the admoratloit and respect of all the local high school students. He is chairman of the North Ward Boy Scouts Troop Committee, and until recently was superintendent of the North Ward Young. Mens MIA organ1 ization. Among his many achievements during 1955 was the Talent Show of the Kane County Fair of which he was director. Mr. Judd is a member of the Kanab Lions Club, and during the past few years has built a thriving insurance business in Kanab. The Kanab Jaycees feel that the award was given to the right man and wish to thank him for his contributions to the community. Exploring is the finest experience that a young man can have. Registeration will begin at 7 p.m. in the Seminary building and the fee will be 50c. Those who are expected to take the course are all adult explorer leaders, the boy leaders (senior crew leader, deputy senior crew ledaer and secretary) of each post, scout leaders and others who feel that they could be of assistance in building an active explorer program are invited to attend. Six parts of the program are as follows: first class, "Explorer Fundamentals; second, "Leadership; third, Program Planning; fourth, Service"; fifth, "Skills", two parts, emergency service and outdoor skills; the sixth class. will, be an outdoor social program; wives and girl friends will be guests.
