In their first game at St. George the Tri City defeated a fine St. George Sun, rise team 5 to 4 and then went on to win the tournament by downing a tough West Zion, team 1 to 0 in a well played game. Other teams in the tourna--- 5 ment were Cedar City Nationals, who finished 4th; Hurricane who was runnerup to Kanab and St. George Sunset who finished 2nd ; and St. George Sunrise who finished 5th. The Tri City team Is made up of boys from the four teams in the Little League here. The boys drew Cedar City for their first game. Cedar proved to be at their best and downed our boys. On Thursday y made a comeback defeatr ing the Hurricane team, the Richfield team they played on Friday proved to be to much for them. The boys enjoyed thethree daysandtwo nights they spent in the homes of Cedar residents. Friday night they were able to do a little bowling and go out on the town. KILLED according to Garfield County Sheriff George H. Middleton, was Merrill Lee Gil-lie- s, In 25, Panguitch, a passenger a car driven by Norman Crosby, 19, also of Panguitch. Mr. Crosby, who suffered shock, but otherwise apparently was uninjured, was hospitalized at Panguitch, the sheriff said. Mr. Gillies was born March, 18, 1939, at Beaver to William H. and Irene Griffiths Gillies. ' He married the former Betty Judd, Kanab, at Las Vegas, Nev., May. 27, 1SG0. SURVIVING are his widow; two sons, Ladd Merrill and Steven; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William H. Gillies, Beaver; a brother, William Lewis,-Pan-gui- tch, -- and a sister, Mis. Nor- ma (June) Stephenson; Cedar City, Iron County. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2 p.m., in the Beaver Second Ward Chapel, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-da- y Saints.
