There are no strangers in our OTganization; we are all handicapped and are having or have had the same problems, desires and Wishes. By working together and helping each other there are no limits to what we can accomplish. It can be seeded in the 10 to 12 inch rainfall areas of southern Utah. Field size plantings are being made in the Kane County SCD to test and demonstrate the suitability of new plants under actual conditions. They are usually compared with other similiar grass to determine their adaptability at the selected sites. The seed increase program is designed to provide ranchers with a seed source to be used in seeding their own ranches. Since the District furnishes the seed, they ask that the rancher to return twice the of seed given to him at the first seed harvest. This seed is then allocated to two more ranchers who return seed back to the District for seed received. After the rancher has returned his seed back to the District, he may use the seed to seed his own range lands. Thus, the program builds up like a rolling snow ball until all ranchers have their own seed increase plots. This will reduce the cost of seed to the rancher enabling him to seed more of his range lands.
