Margaret is the third daughter of the late Edwin Gudger and Mrs. Grace Gudger, who had a ranch in Pipe valley, west of Fredonia, several years ago. The group discussed the feasibility of maintaining the present TV system if rumors are correct that other TV companies are considering bringing in better reception and added channels. Discussion pointed out it probably would not be in the near future that this would develop, and the system now being used should be kept and improved until such time as better television is available. Due to the fact that it is a community system, the problem af community taxation as a means of obtaining funds was discussed. Mayor Steed stated that a tax for this purpose was now legal and, through a vote of the people, could be levied. He suggested that the Cities of Kanab and Fredonia be contacted jointly to discuss the matter and work out a joint agreement. A committee to investigate the problem was appointed. with Emron Robinson as chairman. E. Jay Whiting and Verda Drake are to act as representatives between the Chamber and the TV committee. An advertising campaign for the coming deer hunting season, with an information center available for Information on good hunting location, was discussed. September 15 is the date set for a general membership luncheon meeting, to be held at Virgs Cafe at 12 oclock noon. Robert Bodvin reported on the progress of the Glen Canyon Dam highway dedication, to. be held September 19 at the Cockscomb and at the dam site. Mr. Bodvin reported that a crowd af 300 was anticipated at this time. Committees appointed for detail work in connection with the dedication are: Fay Hamblin and Abe Bonham, speakers platform: Claud Glazier and Bill Smirl, transportation: Royce Hulsey, music; Scott Brandon and Robert Bodvin, seating arrangements.
