Kenneth Powell, son of Jay and Alice Powell of Fredonia and Cedar Kidge, is home after his two years in U. S. Army service. Kenny, a Pfc on his separation from the service at Fort Ord, California July 23, has employment in this area and will be home now. Bruce Powell, his brother, went to Fort Ord to meet him and the two enjoyed a weeks vacation on the return trip to Fredonia. Miss Doris Shelton, daughter of Mrs. Eva Shelton of Montebello, California, is visiting with Rene Brooksby, daughter of Mayor and Mrs. Arland Brooksby. Doris has been attending East Los Angeles Junior college this past year. Mrs. Shelton is expected Saturday of this week to enjoy the company of her many friends in Fredonia for several days. The Sheltons are former residents and vacation here frequently. Mrs. DeVota Becker and daughter, Twila Faye, have returned home after a year spent in Fort Worth, Texas, visiting the Miles Ford family.
