Voltaire lists Off to ths Kanab Jayccss D-- 7 post-offic- The Kanab Jaycees, a group of energetic and resourceful young men, did a fine job last week on Friday and Saturday when they wound up several months of hard work and planning in their annual race meet and celebration. Following a good job last year, their first, in putting on the race meet that is traditionally known around the state, the Jaycees very throughly kept track of all accounts, expenditures and details that made the meet much easier for them this year, and also more profitable in that they probably have a little cash to place in their club treasury. Both days of the meet this year had larger than usual crowds and most events throughout the two days went off to the satisfaction of the fans and crowds attending. Faulty starting gates caused several mishaps in some races, which the Jaycees no doubt will remedy next year, but all in all the townspeople and business houses here can take their hats off to a young energetic club that is growing and doing a good job for the community in several ways. 7e Intend to Print tka Jews As a growing weekly newspaper, the Southern Utah News feels a duty to print all of the news fit to print, and to editoralize, as a mandate of the free press. The S.U.N. has in the past been critized as well as praised for printing some editorials and news, and while we do not relish recording unpleasant events, we wish to remind you, we have nothing whatsoever to Jo with making the news, or events, all we do is print it as we see it after it is made. The free press of the United States has a duty to perform in printing the news, and so long as this publisher is at the helm of the S.U.N., all news and events coming our way will go in the paper, regardless of who mades it, or how.
