Show School SOUTHERN UTAH NEWS WEDNESDAY MAY 19, 1999 Autumn Aziz Memorial Mohave Scholarship Fund started Community The parents of Autumn Aziz hereby establish this scholarship fund to enable students of Kanab High School to attend the Engineering State Program at Utah State University. Autumn Aziz attended the Engineering State Program in June 1998 Over the course of the week at Utah State. Autumn made a decision t enter engineering as a profession and to attend Utah State University upon high school graduation. Unfortunately Autumns life was taken in an automobile accident in November of 1998. Her parents have created this scholarship fund in her honor. The fund is to be administered according to the following provisions: 1. This scholarship will be funded with a gift of $3,000 from James and Pamela Aziz. Subsequent gifts to this scholarship may be made by family members, friends, past Engineering State delegates andor by any other private or corporate donors. 2. Recipients of awards from this fund shall be known as Autumn Aziz Engineering State Scholars. A brief biography and philosophy of the sponsors may High School is available, students from other southern Utah schools will be considered. All candidates must submit applications according to high school deadlines. 4. The administrators of this fund shall keep a written account of the scholarship including the names and addresses of recipients and donors. This list snail be made available to the parents of Autumn Aziz. 5. All monies received will be nandled in accordance with Utah State University money management investment policies. Whos Who Among Students Eight students from Mohave Community Colleges North Mohave Campus have been selected to be listed in the 1999 edition of Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges . 59 Mohave Community College students who were selected as national outstanding cam- pus leaders by nominating committees from Mohave Community Colleges facilities in Bullhead City, Colorado City, Kingman and Lake Havasu City, and by editors of the annual directory based on their academic achievement, service to the community, leadership in extracurricular activities and potential for continued success. Student recipients of the Autumn Aziz EngineeringState Scholarship should demonstrate academic achievement and a genuine interest m math and science. A female candidate from Kanab High School shall be given priority. If no male or female candidate from Kanab Hammon, Mary Hammon, Joyce Harker, Leah Jessop, Gregory Oakleaf and Kelly Robinson. They join the elite group of students selected from more than 1,400 institutions of Autumn Aziz higher learning throughout the United States and several foreign nations. Outstanding students have been honored in the annual directory since 1934. Mohave Community College President, Mike Tacha congratulated the students on their selection. We are proud of these students and I would like to take this opportunity to salute them for their achievements, said Tacha. We wish them continued success in their educational pursuits and careers, he said.
