Carmel Cemetery under the direction of Mosdell Mortuary. 9:30-10:4- 5 Margaret Cox Sorensen, age 57, died Saturday, April 17, 1999 m St. George, Utah. She was bom on December 11, 1941 in Kanab, Utah to Twila Irene Campbell and Allen M Cox. Married Dale Van Doc Sorensen on June 30, 1959 in the St. George Temple. Margaret enjoyed reading and having her children and grandchildren around. She played the piano and was a good cook. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting, and made all the baby quilts for her ward for several years. She was an active member of the LDS Church and had numerous ward callings, including working in the Primary for many, many years. She participated in the NHPA for several years. Survivors include her husband Doc Sorensen of Mt. Carmel; children Jeanette and Tim Esplin of Orderville, Wayne and Jolene Sorensen of Price, Utah, Lynn and Shelly Sorensen of Mountain Home, Utah, Konni and Mike Mahoney of Kanab, and with the CCCs. In 1940, he went to work in the lumber industry at Cutlers Sawmill, and retired from Kaibab Lumber in 1970. He served as a Justice of the Peace for 20years in Moccasin. Lorenzo was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-daSaints, serving in the Branch Presidency, and as the first Bishop after the Moccasin ward was created. He was a dedicated home teacher. He and Jennie served happily for many years as ordinance workers in the St. George Temple. Lorenzo was a hard working man who appreciated that quality in others. He was a very honest man in all his dealings, gentle and fair with a keen sense of humor and always a kind word to say. He thought highly of his family. Little children loved him and he returned their love.
