On November 3, the Planning Commission met and reviewed Affordable Housing and the Suggested Outline for the Affordable Housing Process. The tentative goals which were set; senior citizen, duplexes, mobile home park redevelopment, first time home owners and HousingTrust Fund Authority. There will be a public hearing set before final goals and objectives are proclaimed. A resolution to amend the Kanab City Personnel Policy was passed. Virtually the changes were suggestions which had been made by Risk Management and reviewed by city employees. There were no objections to the amendments and the resolution was passed. A consideration and resolution confirming the sale and authorizing the issuance of $210,000 in taxable water revenue refundingbond was passed. By refunding, the bond interest will go from 10.9 to 7.4, with the city realizing a savings of le, City Attorney Mackelprang requested a merit increase for City Attorney Secretary Sharon Scott. Mackelprang thanked Sharon, For all the hard work and time that she puts in with the Planning Commission and all of the other documents that need to be prepared. Scott was awarded her merit increase to Step D Grade 3. Justice Court Judge Gary Johnson requested that Loma Watson, Justice Court Clerk, be awarded her merit increase. Johnson, speaking of Watsons performance stated, Loma is there on time and puts in extra time almost daily. She is the kind of person that deserves to have an increase. Mayor Alvey also wanted to thank Watson by adding, You have made a lot of difference in that office and we appreciate you. Watson was raised to a Step E Grade 5. Police Chief Doug Crosby requested a merit increase for Patrolman Mark Fisher. Crosby stated, This is an officer that has been with us for six years. We are beginning to realize our Crosby added somewhat tongue in cheek, Over current events, six years seems like an eternity. Some guys only last 15 minutes. On a more serious note Crosby stated, I appreciate Mark and his family. I am certainly glad to have Mark on our department. Patrolman Fisher was raised to a Step E Grade 13. investment. |
