Also included were 61 survivors and 7 special age 72 beneficiaries. During 1971 a total of 106,473 Utah residents received Social Security benefits totaling $12,214,-00Lloyd said. Nationwide, a total of 27.3 million, men, women, and children were on the current benefit rolls during 1971. This figure represents an increase of nearly 1 million from the end of the previous year, Lloyd added. The Utah congressman said that the monthly amount of the cash benefits payable to these beneficiaries as of the end of 1971 was nearly $3.1 billion. This exceeds the figure for a year earlier by h. The Clinton Reese family of Hawaiian Gardens, Calif., arrived during the night Saturday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Susie Reese. They have six children. They too plan to visit the Grand Canyon and other interesting parts of the color country and will visit Melbas sister in Kanab. On Friday the Reese family plans to have a family get together at the Lawrence Reese home in Kanab and will consist of all of Susies children with their families except Ruby Swapp of Phoenix, who is scheduled for surgery so will be unable to come. Clinton is a carpenter by trade. Beverly Button of Kanab spent the weekend with her grandparents the Wilbur Covingtons while her mother and a girl friend made a trip to Moab. Mrs. LaVee Roundy of Pang-uitc- h and two sons spent last week here visiting her parents the LaMar DeMilles. The Kendal Taits of Fredonia spent Monday at the Beckwith home. Crosby has recently been appointed to work in the LDS tourist center in Nauvoo, 111., according to word received this week by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Rawland Crosby of Kanab. Elder Crosby and his companion Elder Larson from California were chosen for this labor from among several hundred missionaries in the Pennsylvania Mission. Their work will include guiding tours through the homes of past LDS Church presidents and many other church historic sites. Three hundred thousand people are expected to tour the center this summer. According to Elder Crosby the excitement of church activity is growing tremendously in that area where church history is so rich yet Nauvoo is still small enough to raise a garden (which they did) and the friend to buy it separately. much less.
