Hours will be p.m. daily except Tuesdays, when closing comes an hour earlier. The pool will be open for ladies only from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday and Thursday. Tickets will range from 25 to 50 cents, with family passes $12 monthly or $30 for the season. Walter Ciuff will manage the pool. David Farr will be lifeguard, assisted by Miss Linda Judd. A third guard will be chosen. Mrs Elaine Pratt will sell tickets. Persons wanting to reserve the pool for use at speacial hours should contact the manager. The school library is open to all on townspeople Wednesdays throughout the summer from 2 to 4 p.m. Entrance to the school may be made through the door by the superintendents office. Summer calendars have gone into effect this week for LDS Primary, MIA, and Relief Society. Wednesday at 10 a.m. is the new time for Primary. MIA now begins at 8 p.m. instead of 7:30. Two summer changes in leadership see Mrs. Neva Pratt taking over the Laurels, and Mrs. Ramona Heaton taking over the MIA Maids. They replace Mrs. Barbra Brooksby and Mrs. Tezza Judd, respectively. John Cram, Dale Johnson, Bradley Heaton, and David Finicum began in Hacks canyon and wanted to go all the way to the Colorado River. They were joined by some Californians who heard of the trip and were interested. The travelers went a long way but they didnt make it to the river, Mrs. Cram said. They camped out two nights before returning. Placement students have gone home for the summer, but all expept to return in late August. Ella Brown, Hardy Largo, Bobby Miller, Alberta Sam, Lucy Tolth, Clifford Desiderio, Faye Estevan, and Herman James departed Monday night. A number of Indian Placement students, who have been here the past school year with various families returned this week to their homes for the summer, however they helped present the program at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Carma Jackson gave the first talk. She was followed by Lena Largo, a placement student, who gave a talk. Patricia Marton rendered a vocal solo, accompanied by Mrs. Carla Nan Carlson, a placement student; vocal duet, Betty Tompson and Carmel Key-opplacement student. Talk by Ernest Begay, placement student; the Glendale choir rendered a number and talks were given by Pam and Mackneil Roundy. It was a good service enjoyed by a large audience. The Alton R. Pughs went to Page, Ariz., May 25 and attended the graduation of the Page Junior High School, with a group of 120 students. A number of LDS students from the Kaibeto Branch were among the graduates, and the Pughs granddaughter. Miss Merildene Bunting, one of the class, was awarded the Certificate for Outstanding Achievement in School Citizenship by the Rotary Club. Merildene is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Merrill H. Bunting. Ralph Starr, moving to Logan, needs to attend USU three quarters to complete his doctorate in secondary education. Glen Scholl expects to require a year to complete training as an Educational Specialist in Elementary Principalship and Superintendency at NAU. He has received an assistantship to help finance his study. Mrs. Afton Jameson will begin her retirement visiting her children. She plans to be with new grandchildren and their families in Meridian, Miss., and in Las Vegas, Nev. The latter baby is due in July. Mrs. Jameson will assist her daughter and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Hugh, in their move to Price. Lark Flanigan, maintenance supervisor, will be moving by midsummer too, to his new job in a Cedar City LDS chapel. Travel on an extensive scale is vacation for Miss Arlene Jense. With Fredonia schools out, theyve headed many places for many reasons. The cinch is that none of them remain around their empty classrooms for long. Summer school is the destination mentioned most often. Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff, is specified by Velden Black, Dan Haycock, and Mrs. Florence Williams. Mrs. Beth Stephenson and Mrs. Pauline Rider, teacher aide, have chosen SUSC, although Mrs. Stephenson also plans to visit a Call Trailer, 643-503- 2. Though teachers will be absent, Superintendent Jay Jeffery and Mrs. VeRene Tait, his secretary, will still be at school Jeffery will wind up the school year and advise the new superintendent, until July 1.
