It is very important that each of us inform ourselves of the issues and make sure we are properly registered so that we may voice our desires at the polls. It is There is a new law in effect this year during primary balloting. For voters who are already properly registered there is nothing to do, except be there at voting time. You will then be given a party designation (Democrat, Republican or independent) according to the type ballot you ask for. ' 28, 1966 $4.00 Yearly, 10c Single Copy Voter Preference A Must For those not registered they will give a party preference when registering and then when voting will receive a ballot for this party. If a person declares himself independent he wUl not be allowed to vote on partisan nominations, but may vote on judicial or school board offices only. When the political hopeful had finished his speech, he was asked if he would please go outside and address the many who were unable to hear his talk. In order to elevate him that he might be seen the local people procured the only thing available a manure spreading machine. The candidate stepped upon the rostrum and said: In all my years as a good Democrat, this is the first time I have ever spoken from a Republican platform. , -' Back in Republican Vermont the new paster was being introduced to the members of the congregation. He was Introduced to an old, almost deaf gentlemen, as the new deacon. "Eh, whats that. New Dealer, you say? the old gentleman asked. No, no, new deacon, hes the son of a bishop. "They all are, they all are," cried the old man gleefully. Politics have received much unfavorable publicity over the years, much of It warranted perhaps, much of it overdone.
